The new Taigo

The Black Style design package for the R-Line is ideal for our sportier customers. Your Taigo will look as black as night with 18-inch Misano1 alloy wheels and black exterior mirror caps, trapezoid trim and radiator grille strips. Darkened side and rear windows round off the look.

The new Taigo brings compact dimensions and big design under one roof. Exactly how this will look is up to you. For example, how about a black roof and matching black painted exterior mirror housing? The roof pack is available optionally in the Style equipment line, including darkened side and rear windows. 

The Taigo already looks sporty and modern right from the very first glance. A highlight: the stylish LED light strip, which continues over the entire front to the Volkswagen logo and creates a connection with the associated IQ.LIGHT - LED matrix headlights1 with impressive signature light. The fog lights are integrated at the side in the expansive bumper.

The sloping rear of the vehicle with its modern signature tail light continues the sporty look. The coupé design is accentuated by the slender dark red LED tail light cluster with continuous strip light and, from the distinctive roof edge to the dynamic rear apron, shows that the new Taigo likes to go beyond the everyday.

An impressive appearance needs the right lighting.And this is possible from the Life equipment line onwards with the new Taigo: it shines a light projection onto the ground next to the vehicle. To make sure you not only arrive safely but also come home safely, it illuminates the area as you step inside and the Taigo guides the way with the coming home function and leaving home function.

The vehicle interior of the new Taigo greets you invitingly. With a high-quality soft touch dashboard as standard and even with a colored decor in the Style equipment line on request  From the Life equipment variant upwards, you can charge your devices with ease, even from the Backseat using the USB interface in the center armrest of the front seats. But also the  multifunction steering wheel1, standard from Life equipment line on, in leather shows that everything in this cockpit revolves around a connected lifestyle.

A little more colour perhaps? With our Visual Green design package, you give the interior a fresh coat of paint. As you step inside you are greeted by an interior in the light Ceramique colour and by the stylish decorative trim in Visual Green . The matching green decorative seams on the seat cover “tracks” complement the signature colour.

The white background lighting on the front door openers,standard equipment for the Style and R-Line equipment lines, the decorative trims on the doors and in the dash panel create a pleasant ambience in the interior thanks to the use of indirect lighting. And a treat for the eyes too: the LED reading lights  front and rear , optional available from the Life equipment line on,as well as the LED footwell lighting, standard equipment for  the Style and R-Line equipment line, which guides the way as you step inside.

Passengers are too warm? And you’re too cold? Thanks to two-zone regulation, the temperatures can be adjusted independently of one another on the driver and passenger side. The for Life and higher equipment lines optional available  Air Care Climatronic air conditioning system can be regulated intuitively via touch surfaces and it doesn’t stop there: the slower you drive, the quieter the operation of the blower. And when pressing the windscreen washer or putting into reverse gear, the system switches automatically to air recirculation mode, keeping odours outside. In short: comfortable travelling conditions all round in the new Taigo.

Despite its compact size, the new Taigo offers an impressively large amount of space. To make sure you can make full use of this space, a variable luggage compartment floor ensures additional storage space. Because load sill and load surface are on one level, it is especially easy to load and unload luggage: simply raise the luggage to the load sill and push in or pull out. What’s more, you won’t be disturbed either by the deep bass tones of the optional “beats” subwoofer1, which is installed in the spare wheel well and therefore creates maximum space in the luggage compartment.

Do you always have a charging cable to hand in case your smartphone runs out of charge when you’re out and about? No need to give this another thought with the new Taigo. Simply place your smartphone in the front storage compartment, where it is charged inductively. Just make sure that your smartphone supports the Qi standard and that you have selected the relevant special equipment from the Life equipment line upwards.

With a huge glass panel that stretches over the entire width of the roof, the from Life equipment line onwards optional available electrical tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof is an eye-catching feature in itself. Even more amazing: an unobstructed view of the sky above. And unlimited sunshine and fresh air. You decide how much you want: the roof can be tilted up or opened fully. And should it get too bright, the tinted glass and a high-quality blind1 lend a helping hand. 

Save yourself the bother of searching for your car key in your trousers, handbag or jacket pocket: once you have the key with you and you are no more than 1.5 metres away from your Taigo, the doors and boot lid optionally unlock as if by magic.1 You also don’t need the key to start the engine. You just need to press a button. And on the off-chance that Keyless Access2 is not working, then the key is not in your bag. Maybe on the kitchen table?

Does your hobby need extensive equipment? No problem at all for the new Taigo: the optionally available towing bracket is designed for loads of up to 650 kg unbraked and 1200 kg braked1.  If you don’t need the towing bracket right now, you can remove it in no time and stow it in the trunk.

The optional Rear View reversing camera including cleaning function gives you a clear view when reversing: the area behind the vehicle captured by the camera is shown on the display of your infotainment system. In addition, Rear View inserts guide lines that make it easier for you to estimate the distance correctly.

You can adjust the Taigo to suit your driving style with the optional driving mode selection. Depending on what is most important to you. Simply select the required driving mode at the press of a button or on the touchscreen and drive, steering and even switching points (with the dual clutch gearbox DSG) are adapted automatically. What’s more, the electronic differential lock XDS acts as a transverse limited-slip differential, which compensates for understeering on fast bends as is typical with front-wheel drive models. All fully automatically. And extremely comfortably.
