App-Connect. Access your apps in your car.

App-Connect. Access your apps in your car.

This is an offer by Volkswagen AG, Germany.

How it works

Would you like to use your smartphone apps securely and conveniently in your vehicle? Thanks to App-Connect, that is easier than ever. It allows you to conveniently use selected apps and content right in your Volkswagen. They are transmitted to the display of the infotainment system via a wired connection and can be comfortably and clearly controlled within your line of vision. That makes it incredibly easy to access music, news, maps or audiobooks, for example. Volkswagen currently offers two interfaces for connecting with smartphones, with numerous options: Android Auto by Google and MirrorLink. The wireless connection option for the Discover Media, Discover Pro and Ready 2 Discover navigation systems makes the use of Android Auto by Google particularly convenient for We Connect-ready vehicles. To avoid distraction, only certified apps can be started during the journey. 1

The specified consumption and emissions values were obtained using the legally required measurement procedure. On 1 January 2022, the WLTP test cycle fully replaced the NEDC test cycle. Accordingly, no NEDC values are available for new type-approved vehicles after this date. Figures are not based on a single individual vehicle and are not part of the offer, but serve solely to facilitate comparisons between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (attachments, tyre format, etc.) could change relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. As well as weather and traffic conditions and personal driving style, these add-ons could also affect a vehicle’s fuel consumption, power consumption, CO2 emissions and performance. Due to the more realistic testing conditions, the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions values measured according to the WLTP are often higher than those measured under the NEDC. This may result in corresponding changes in vehicle taxation as of 1 September 2018. Further information about the differences between the WLTP and NEDC is available at https://www.vw.com.cy/en/owners-and-users/useful-information/wltp.html. Further information regarding official fuel consumption and the official, specific CO₂ emissions for new passenger vehicles can be found in the “Guidelines on fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions and electricity consumption of new cars” which is available free of charge from all points of sale and DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern, Germany or at www.dat.de/co2.

To obtain upgrades, you need a Volkswagen ID user account, a valid We Connect contract and your primary user credentials, i.e. the link between your user account and the specific vehicle. Your vehicle also needs to have the necessary technical functions and hardware equipment for the relevant upgrade. This may depend on the model year and production date. The upgrades available for the specific vehicle can be viewed by the primary user in the infotainment system In-Car Shop or the We Connect web shop at shop.volkswagen-we.com. Paid-for products can be purchased in the In-Car Shop and the We Connect web shop with the payment methods that are currently available and can be viewed there. Your Volkswagen dealership is also happy to advise on questions regarding upgrades and their availability. Purchased and activated upgrades remain with the vehicle, can be used by all drivers and cannot be transferred to other vehicles.
