The primary user of the vehicle is usually the owner of the vehicle. A primary user has all of the privileges. The role is linked to the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car. With the VIN the primary user can pair the vehicle with their Volkswagen ID.
The guest user has a Volkswagen ID and has agreed to the We Connect General Terms and Conditions in its scope of functions. They have limited privileges. Guest users can use navigation and infotainment services as well as streaming and internet services. They can also use the We Connect ID. App with a reduced scope (for example, individual product deactivation, online destination import, profile adjustments, searching and finding charging stations, etc.) To do this, they must log in to the infotainment system as a guest user and have the We Connect ID. App installed on their smartphone.
A guest user can log in independently with their Volkswagen ID, but a main user must exist first.
The anonymous guest uses the vehicle without registering. Therefore they have no Volkswagen ID and can only use reduced services, such as the eCall emergency call system, online traffic information, online route calculation, charging stations, online special destination search, online map update and parking spaces. If the anonymous guest is selected by “guest” in the user administration, the driver decides in the welcome screen whether the vehicle is used in online or “Offline mode”.
