Participant countries included Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Russia, England, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela and two teams from Germany. Cyprus was represented by Limassol’s AEL who won the National Volkswagen Junior World Masters Championship, organized earlier this year by Unicars, official representative of Volkswagen in Cyprus. AEL attained the 4th position in the International Championship with two wins (Cyprus-Chile 2:0, Cyprus-Peru 3:0), two defeats (Cyprus-Germany 0:1, Cyprus-Venezuela 0:1) and one tie (Cyprus –UK 0:0).

The title “Volkswagen Junior World Master 2006” was awarded to the Greek team, which won the Championship with 7 consecutive wins.

During their four-day stay in Wolfsburg, the members of AEL had the chance to take a tour of the impressive Volkswagen factory and visit the new Museum of Physical Science “Phaethon”.

Unicars warmly congratulates AEL for its great athletic spirit and drive during the Championship and would like to wish the team the best of luck for the future.
